We maintain a rigorous quality control process for all translation projects from the
receipt of the initial job to final delivery. The typical translation process involves
several steps: pre-translation, translation, proofreading and editing, examination and
delivery and after care.
In this stage, our company will join together with the client to study and analyze
the document to be translated in terms of language pair, subject matter involved,
translation volume, turnaround time and budget, etc. Upon the agreement on quotation
and schedule being reached by the two sides, a contract signed and an advance charge
paid down, the translation project will come into operation stage.
At YHFZ, a qualified and experienced translator will be selected from the talent
database and be assigned the translation job. And preparation on translation memories,
terminology and reference material, if necessary, will be made ready.
The translator in charge of the translation completes his/her translation and
preliminary proofreading within the deadline set for him/her, aiming to kill some
omissions and errors in the translation stage, and marking the places where he/she failed
to translate or was not for sure. The Translation Supervisor of the company will oversee
the whole process of translation, solving the problems immediately upon its occurrence,
as well as keeping hot line connection with the client, making him informed of project's
status real time.
3. Proofread and edit
Another independent (native) proofreader goes thoroughly through the finished
translation to make it perfect in accuracy, spelling, grammar and in consistency of
terminology, as well as solving the remained problems (if there were) left by the
translator, while the professional editor will do his/her work for proofreading the
translated document in terms of punctuation、text、format and consistency.
4．Check and Delivery
After passing the final proofreading and editing, the Translation Supervisor makes
final checking, then the completed translation will be delivered to the client according
to his requirements and the residue should be cleared up.
5. After Care
In case the client asks for re-checking and re-proofreading on translated document
because of the flaws existing in the translation, we will give timely and active response
by re-checking and re-proofreading free of charge and then submit the newly-corrected
translation back to client as early as possible. In case the client wants to make change
on or add something new to the original document, we give immediately response too,
but at cost of the client.
When the translation project was completely completed, the staff of our company will
keep all the materials concerning the translation project on file, and supplement and
update the storages of terminology, glossary, etc.
About volume translation project
Because a big translation project may need several to dozen translators, the control
and assurance of quality, especially consistency becomes quite difficult. To deal with
this problem, the following special measures are introduced in our company:
1. Work out meticulous working plan and schedule
2. Establish a special team made up of experienced translators with expertise knowledge
3. All the members of the team should be good at Trados.
4. The overall process of the project will be strictly overseen by the project manager
personally acted by the Translation Supervisor of our company.
5. A core team (The client is kindly asked to join the team) will be set up for taking
the job of most important part of translation project.
6. Assign the most typical and repeatedly appeared part of the documents to the most
capable translator and then send the translated section to other team members for
7. Keep seamless connection with the client to get their feedback, informing them of
status of the project, or maybe drawing in their suggestions or opinions.
8. On the finished translation the core team will conduct careful checking and
proofreading in great detail to guarantee the accuracy, consistency and to fulfill or
surpass the requirements of the client.
Upon receiving the request for interpreting service from client, study and analyze the
overall information about the interpreting project, such as language, subject matter,
budget, time and venue of interpreting activity, and the requirements of client, sign
an interpreting assignment contract after reaching agreement between the two sides
and pay advance charge (30% to 50%) of the contract money. The client is required to
supply all interpreting-relating materials.
Assign the interpreting project to the most suitable interpreter selected from our
company’s talent database, make him/her clear of the requirements on interpreting
project, schedule and hand over interpreting-related materials. Upon the request from
client, send them information about the selected interpreter. Still, select a back-up
interpreter for emergency. On the interpreter side, do preparation on collecting
project-related information and glossary, have a survey on interpretation site, making
clear of the route, the distance and time he/she need to travel to the site.
While carrying out the interpreting job, our company will keep close connection with
the interpreter, tracking the process and solving any problem as soon as it occurs,
including replacing of the working interpreter with back-up one in case the former
cannot continue his/her work owing to something wrong with him/her. The company will
also keep touch with the client, exchanging information with them, drawing feedback
from them during the whole interpreting procedure.
When the interpreting project was completed, ask for the comment of the client on the
interpreting work as a whole and the assessment on the interpreter about his/her work,
keeping all the materials concerning the project on file and passing the words from
